Birthed out of a fashion design and art challenge between Auburn University and the University of Alabama in 2015, this gown was inspired by Richmond Burton’s Heart (1994) woodcut. Combining my love for visual and physical texture, I spent weeks machine embroidering and wet-forming lace and fabric to create the perfect molded neckline that formed its own jewelry.
The gown, Ingenue, was showcased in the Huntsville Museum of Art from January to April 2016 in their Fashion Fusion Face-Off exhibit.
